Depth Filtration

Depth Filtration utilizes a gradient-density media structure to capture contaminants throughout the entire cross-section of the filter, rather than solely on the surface. This volumetric particle retention mechanism enables high dirt-holding capacity and resistance to premature clogging, making it suitable for fluids with high particulate loads or gelatinous contaminants. Typically constructed from melt-blown polypropylene, glass fiber, or wound yarn, depth filters are widely applied as pre-filters in multi-stage liquid filtration systems across coatings, chemical production, and semiconductor plating processes. Their ability to maintain stable differential pressure and flow rate over extended service intervals makes them an essential component in high-reliability process filtration.
